Parties and Films

Sunday, June 25th, 2006

I'm feeling a little sluggish today having been out last night for my friends 21st birthday bbq, much food and beer was had, probably too much of both!

On Friday night Claire, Sam and me went to the cinema in York to see Hard Candy and it was fantastic, for a low budget (or what seemed to be) and using a small cast or only five people, you just can't fault it. The film looks at the more disturbing side of revenge and Ellen Page is outstanding, as is Patrick Wilsons performacnce as a suspected Pedophile. As the film progresses your taken through a broad range of emotions towards both characters such as disgust and sympathy. I also enjoyed the way the film was put together too, some great cinematography. Over all, I'd give this 8/10, really enjoyed it!

Home Again

Monday, June 19th, 2006

Well, I've been home for nearly a wwek now and the time is just flying by. I havn't managed to find a job yet but theres posibility of one or two. While I've been back I've been tinkering with my website as usual and in my opinion have made the new design better than the current one. I'm just taking a break from tidying my room. Having moved back home, I've got alot of stuff and my room already had it's fair share of crap in it already so I'm having to have a big tidy up :(

Spent the weekend chilling out really. Went to Dish's for lunch on Sunday with my Mum, Steve, James and Claire. I had a full english aka 'The Breakfast Of Champions' which always hits the spot damn nicely!! Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sampling the cuisene of Ripon, visiting Perk Up and Lockwoods. It has to be one of the best parts of coming home to be honest, visiting all the restaurants, lol!

Today I found my brothers Playstation Eye Toy and thought I'd see what my computer made of it. It didn't work but I managed to find a site with a hack to get it to work. And suprisingly, it's an ok webcam all of a sudden(See here).

Well I think thats it for now, back to the black hole that is my room :(

Beside(and in) The Sea

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Well, I've had the best few days since going to Xscape on Thursday. Friday we all kicked back and chilled and the remaining five of us (myself, Claire, Sam, Kaspar and Naomi) had a BBQ, some beers and watched Just Freinds which was chosen by Claire. A good choice as "rom-coms" go I think.

Then on Saturday we all went to the sea-side in Clethorpes and had a blast generally larking about. After buying a frisbee and a boomarang and giving up trying to play in gale force winds, me and Kaspar decided that we'd go crazy and go for a swim… the amount of sand brought back to the house was crazy! Lol!

Right now I'm half way through packing my bedroom up for the move back home on Thursday afternoon, one of my best mates Anthony from high school is going to pick me up, should be a laugh!

Ok, so I haven't mentioned Infection for a couple of weeks now but if you're not listening to it and you read this blog (heaven forebid) you should be ashamed, what better plug can there be?!!! Listen to it!! I'm getting into the world of podcasting in a big way and as I type am downloading all the episodes to date of Seventh Son: Descent and if the reviews are anything to go by then it should be good! As normal, I'll let you know. However don't just take my word for it, check out these podcasts!!!

Xscape for a day

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

WOW, our house trip to Xscape was fantastic!! First thing we did was to go on the rock climbing wall. It was so much fun if not a little frightening for some. Credit to Adam for making it to the top of a wall I couldn't, especially as he didn't even want to climb, he certainly overcame his fear of heights! Well done.

Then it was onto the Ariel Assualt Course… erm!! That was lots of fun but only because of the adrenaline rush of been 15metres from the ground. It wasn't so much the height that got the old ticker racing, it was the fact that THERE WAS NO FLOOR! lol.

So after we had exhausted most of or limbs on the climbing wall and the ariel assualt course we went for some food at frankie and bennys which was really cool. It was extra nice because it was our last meal all together as were all pretty much going home.

After dinner we went and played lazer quest and it was fantastic!! It has to be the most fun you can have with flourescent lights and guns that dont inflict pain! After we had an energetic round of lazer quest we went bowling, which was also much fun and I'm happy to announce I won! woo!

Then just when we thought the fun was over we went for another game of lazer quest! Lol! the second game was much more fun and I had a great time, my favorite bit had to be killing 5 people in a row! hehe. So now i'm going to enter our stats from the lazer quest into a database and compile a leader board from the two games.

Well i'll enjoy it anyway!!

DVDs For The Win!!

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

Well, not a great start to the month for blogging but hey ho. I've been at home for the last couple of weeks with various things happening there which meant that my precious "chill-out" time i was planning to have over the same period has evaporated into just a few days, never the less, i've still had fun.

So the last remaining week i have i'm going to use to watch the remaining episodes of Dark Angel Season 1 which is a really great sci-fi series. Another series which I've enjoyed recently (ok, so i watched it all yesterday) is Life On Mars, it's one of the best police dramas i've seen and is unlike any other. I think it was shown on the BBC and if it's repeated then I would reccomend that people check it out.

Tommorow Me, Claire and all my housemates go to Xscape for a fun filled day of action and adventure… ok so bowling, lazer quest, taboggoning and arieal assault course. But i'm hoping that it's going to be awsome fun! It's our alternative to the end of year ball, the justification was that for the ticket entry price alone we can go to Xcape for a day and have some, if not more, fun!!

I just hope everybody else enjoys it asmuch as I intend too!!! :D
