Happy New Year everyone.

I hope that everyone has a fun filled and prosperous 2007.

I’d love to hear what everyones new years resolutions are this year. Let me know in the comments :P Last year mine was to think of a good new years resolution for 2007, that still gives me just over 7 and a half hours to do it. Genius.

Lost and found

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

Today something rather odd happened. Whilst I was driving to Northallerton with my mum she suddenly scream ‘David, go get that meat, I’ll turn around, you get out and get it.’ I was a bit stunned and told her I didn’t have any money. She turned around in the road and told me to get out and look in the road. There in the middle of the road were two huge ribs of beef sat in/on a bag and no-one who would be associated with them. So in the boot of the car they went. Weird huh.

Me and Claire have just finished making some mince swirls, basically I made some mince meat, rolled out some puff pastry, spread mince meat accross it, rolled it up and then sliced it. They’re a wicked take on modern mince pies and taste fantastic.

Tonight me, Claire and a load of mates from around Ripon are all going for a Christmas drink, can’t wait. Cya all later.

It’s Been A While

I’ve been bad again I know, I’ve not been updating more than once a week but you’re lucky to be getting that at the moment.

On Sunday night myself, Claire, my Mum and my sister Kara went and watched Happy Feet at the Odeon in Harrogate and it was really good. A lot more of the film was based when Mumble had grown up but as far as feel good films go I really enjoyed it.

Ahhh, I just got back from making my own mincemeat. Mmmmm. This year I thought that instead of buying chocolates for people as it’s somewhat of a token gesture these days that I’d take a leaf out of my friend Quinny’s book and make something. He told me he was making Christmas cakes for people and it sounded like a good idea. So this year I’m making my own mince pies. I’ve made the mincemeat and on Thursday I’ll make the mince pies out of it. I hope they turn out OK, I plan on making quite a few and distributing them to a few members of my family, lol.

Tomorrow night is The Ollie C Show Christmas Special and were going from 7-10pm so if you fancy some festive fun drop by www.radiorsp.co.uk to tune in.

Deflated

Sorry for the pants title, it just popped into my head. It’s in reference to the fact that I took my bike out on it’s first ride. I made my way accross town and my seat decided to adjust itself whilst I was riding it, Great. I fixed that when I got to Chris’ house and we set off for a ride down some public footpath, that was cool, a bit dark and muddy but cool.

As soon as we both took our seperate tracks to get home my tire went flat. Typical really. I think it was the swing gate with all the thorny bushes around it that must have got me. So now before I can go back out I have to fix the bloody thing! So overall and enjoyable but not very successful outing.

I want a Wii

Saturday, December 9th, 2006

I’m not one to be swayed by the media and reviews of a product, I like to reserve judgement until I’ve seen/heard/played something.

But not today! I really want a Nintendo Wii, the reviews are just amazing and quite a number of people I know are raving about it. I just really like the look of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, I mean come on… WOW!!! I’m just so excited by the innovation of the Wii, the controllers are just incredible and by all account make even the most boring of tasks fun.

Santa baby slip a Wii under the tree, for me!

Revival of consoles old

Today I dug out the NES and the N64 and have set them up in my room after they’ve had a large number of years sat doing pretty much nothing. I love that nostalgic feeling when you look through your old computer games and think about how good they were. The first games that jumped out at me were Super Mario 64 for the N64 and Parodius for the NES. I’m also looking forward to starting Banjo-Kazooie again, I spent so many hours playing on that it’s not funny.

Well, I’m just about recovered now from a lot of hard labour. On Tuesday I helped lay some concrete floors and was aching a lot after that. Wednesday I helped wheel barrow 18.7 cubic metres of concrete into some foundations, that hurt me big style. Thursday me and Steve moved a large amount of concrete blocks which also hurt very very much. Friday we had a half day because we couldn’t get a delivery of sand and cement until Saturday which also hurt a lot. Despite this whole world of pain that I’ve found myself in over the last week I’m still really enjoying things. It’s good to get some exercise.

Anyone who saw my previous post will know that last weekend myself, Claire and Chris went to watch Casino Royal and my goodness it was brilliant. For anyone who hasn’t seen it or hasn’t been able to justify going, consider this a verbal kick up the backside! It’s really, really, really good. I think at this point I should mention the Happy Feet trailer I’ve been seeing for a while at the cinemas (here), how cool is that!! I love it!!! If anyone has seen this please tell me if it’s good!

I also want to say hello to anyone who subscribes to Planet Freeside as I’ve just been added to it. I’m not sure I can compete with the mighty blogging power of Mr Rob Miles so I’m not even going to try :P
